Default 69 L-36 Corvette Intake Manifold

Question. Is the intake on a L-36 (427ci 390hp) Corvette Cast Iron or Aluminum?

Thanks,

-Dave

Casting number 3919849 is a BB L-36 (427/390) aluminum q-jet intake in 1968.

3937793 is a late 68 aluminum q-jet intake,..same as the 849 but a splash shield was added to prevent oil from cooking under the EGR part of the intake.

3947801 is also an aluminum q-jet intake for 1969 L-36 cars. Same as the 793 but had a different choke stove.

These are the only three Chevy aluminum castings for BB's with q-jets.

The above info is from Colvin's "Chevy by the Numbers".

These intakes are pulling some fair coin ($3-500) on the auctions from us Vette owners who are q-jet fans,..and/or those with hood clearance issues,..and/or those wanting to save some weight.

I'm starting to have trouble remembering where I parked my car too.

This is what I like about this Mustang forum. Lots of company.
