Wheel Adapters

I asked advice on the forum for proper adapters and I bought 2 - 2" for the rear and 2- 2.25" for the front. The fronts rub on the tie rod ends the 2" in the rear are too narrow so I tried the 2.25" in the rear and they rub the spring. I have VBP rear spring with the longer bolts. They will exchange them. I would like to go to the 2.5" front and rear but if they rub I do not want to return for the 2.75.
Any advice?
Thanks,

a wheel with 1/4" of washers between wheel/adapter.
DO NOT DRIVE LIKE THIS.
Use this as a test to see how 2.5" will function.
9.5" is a wide wheel ... might need 2.75" or 3".
Here is my C3 with C5 wheels. I am showing clearances with
3" adapters installed. To go under 3", I'll have to move the
parking brake cable bracket on trailing arm. 3" looks good in front for me.

These are stock C5 wheels - so maybe you can look up the
backspacing specs to compare to yours (and do the math).
Good luck
