The first and easiest thing I do is replace the fuel filter. Hope that's it.

If you have changed the fuel filter, perhaps filters if not stock, I would next check fuel pressure. You have to keep eliminating possible problem areas, starting with the easiest, then next easiest, and so forth. Keep in mind that there is always the possibilty that fuel is not the problem here, and that it could be electrical. That's what trouble shooting is all about. Good luck.

well why not immediately turn the car off when it starts to "stumble " and check your float level......that should give you some indication where the fuel starvation problem is coming from....do you have sight windows on the carb?

Default could be you advance jamming up

just a few ideas, if you have a fuel gauge that's showing 7 psi, and the filters arent clogged...

run some fuel cleaner through the system to make sure there aint any water or anything in there that's just replacing your gas at some spots

pop the distributor cap, and check your advance mechanism, make sure it moves smooth, i've seen some rust and seize up funny on friends motors

i'd also check spark plugs and make sure they look like a light tan color and if you have a fuel problem they'll probably show something

check throttle linkage and make sure it moves smooth...

then i'd check your ign. coil and ign. module
