Default Shops In Minnesota

I’m still looking for a corvette, but thought I would get some information on shops in my area (Twin Cities, MN) for when I get the Vette.

Who has the best shops for work on C2s & early C3s

Body work?

Suspension work & alignment?

Engine & tune up?

Tri power?

Transistor ignition?

Transmission?

General mechanical?

Thanks,

Scott

Well I guess that answers that question!

the only ones I know of is Classic Corvettes in East Bethel(?) they do just about everything.
And nortside(?) Corvette, if they are still in business they do diffs, trailing arms etc.

Both have pretty good reputations.

Corvette Specialities however I only go to when I have to...

Default Northern suburbs

I had quite a bit of work done at Classic Corvettes on Hwy 65, but I was not satisfied with their quality of work.

I had my trailing arms rebuilt, new rotors put on, new half shafts, etc. at Northside Corvette. He's a perfectionist and really knows his stuff.

I also heard good reports about a shop just off Main St. & Hwy 10 in Anoka but I haven't had any work done there.

My favorite parts shop is Corvette Specialties on Xylite just north of 85th St. in Blaine.

If you're going to repaint your Corvette, start with a media blasting job at Plastech in Lino Lakes. He's good and and very reasonably priced.

For engine work, I recommend Friendly Chevrolet on Hwy 65 in Fridley. I always have the same mechanic work on my car - Alan H.

For transmission work, I highly recommend Hage-Kobany - a couple of blocks off University Ave. south of 694. Quality work at very reasonable prices. They did trans work on 3 cars in our family, including a complete rebuild of the BW Super T-10 and installing a Hurst shift kit in my '80 Corvette.

If you don't live on the north end of the TCs, then I can't help you with places in your area.

Boos Performance in Anoka. (Used to be Wardsports) I heard a rumor they opened up another shop/store in Brooklyn Park also. Here is the website. Heard nothing but good things about them. Check out the Cannonball stuff.

Two places that I know of....Former employee at corvette specialties Dave. The other is The Corvette Shop in Ham Lake off 65, they do everything, and have quite a few junked vettes in the yard for rummaging through (saved me a few times)

Thanks all.
These responses are exactly what I was looking for.

Brent,
Nice looking Vette, but I'm looking for a 72 or older.

Thanks again,

Scott

on Boos performance.

If you want someone who really knows automatic transmissions, Jeff Wingfield out in Minnetonka is fastastic.

I also recommend you join Classic Corvettes Of Minnesota. You'll get lots of tech tips, discounts, and inside scoop on who does what for Corvettes in the T.C.
