Default Replacement Coil

I have been looking for a correct coil for my '72 BB Auto but to no avail.
I have seen one similar advertised "Without TI". What does this mean please. My car is quite original so would it have TI or not.

TI refers to the transistor ignition option offered in the late 60's/early 70's.

Required on LT1, L71, L88.

A black amplifier with wires to/from will be mounted on the front side of the driver's side inner fender.

Different distributor and coil.

Post what the numbers are on your current coil and distributor, and some of the smart people here will be able to tell you.

No 72 Vette with TI except possibly ZR-1 350 Vettes. TI works by spiking the coil with voltage so construction of coil is WAY different than conventional coil. I would do a proper Petronix breakerless conversion and use their black coil, then your set-up would be better than "TI".

Default Ti Query

The coil is not original and apart from being made in Mexico has 067 stamped and the words "Use with primary resistance wire or external resistor". Are we therefore saying that it has a "Transistor ignition" ?
