I was going to install my longer rear suspension leafspring bolts tonight. Is there a specific place on the side frame rails the jack stands should be??
Also, are there designated places a hydralic floor jack should be used. I have been lifting the front using the center arched frame area under the engine (justified to the rear to be in line with a vertical member)
I like using the side frame rails lifting with the jack at each corner leaving enough room to place the stand under the rail. In the front, I also use the lower a-frame at times to support the car, depending upon which area of the car I'll be working on.
Never jack on the front center crossmember. It's not made for jacking & will dent. Proper locations per shop manual are side frame, just ahead of rear wheels and at front about 3" ahead of front door edge.
