When I turn to the left, there is a slight "click" feel and sound in the steering of my '70 Vette (manual steering). It's consistent...always there and always in the same spot. I'm afraid that it might be in my steering box, but is there anywhere else I could check first???
Thanks!

There's lots of things that come to mind.
1. Steering box to frame bolts, are they tight?
2. Rag joint between steering column and steering box
3. Control arm bushings
4. Ball joints
5. Idler Arm
6. Tie rod ends
7. Pitman arm
8. Drag link
9. Rubbing or binding in the steering linkage
10. Loose wheel bearings
11. Bad steering box (definitely last on the list)
12. Damaged frame in area of steering box or other steering components
Make sure you have greased all the fittings. When I bought my 82, I had a clicking sound. Grease took care of it.
You can take it to a shop that does front end alignment. If your car can not hold an alignment, they will tell you what is wrong. It may cost you $100-150 but it doesn't hurt to have the front end aligned periodically. Saves your tires and drives perfectly straight.
