My windshield wash wont work in my 81.... I think that it is because it was hooked up wrong. There is a hose running from the tank to a T fitting that has two other hoses connected to it. Those other 2 hoses run to the wipers. I don't see any other hose running from the tank should there be? The washer pump is inside the wiper motor correct? so shouldn't there be a hose running from that? There isn't in my vette. Could someone please post a picture of where the lines go. I was on a role with fixing stuff on my vette today, then I came to the windshiled washer and became very dissapointed =( Oh and one more thing, how do you pull the washer fluid container out, it looks like I would have to pull everything around it off... I don't really want to do that, but I think I may need to, it seems like there is a leak in the container. I put windowwash in it, and it is gone within the hour... gone with out a trace.... I'm going to run water through it tommorow, and see if there is a hole or something in it though.
Thanx for any help you can give! Keep in mind that I'm 18, and don't know a whole lot about this sort of thing.

I think the washer pump is on the bottom of the reservoir. If you reach your hand down there, you should feel it. Mine was leaking, so I replaced it. I think the neck and the bottle are two seperate pieces, You should be able to snake it out of there. I found the pump at Pep Boys, and changed that while I was in there. All in all not that bad of a job. My car is a '79, I believe the 81's used the same system....Good luck.
It is hooked up correct, it pumps from inside the tank through 1 hose and then "T"s to the wiper arms, I just replaced my pump last week, pump cost $19.00. the filler neck does come apart at the tank but that still is not enough room to remove  had to take master/cylinder off at brake booster and that gives you plenty  this was all done on my 75 drop top...

An easier way to get to it. Take off the left side "gill" on the fender. It allows easy access right to the bottom of the reservior bottle and pump. That's how I got to mine on my 82. Hope this helps :seeya
Thanx! that is just what I wanted to hear! I couldn't find anything about it in my Haynes manual, and the only thing it says abot the washer pump is "the windshield washer pump can be removed from the wiper motor...." Which is what confused me. Thanx for the help though guys! Where can I get a pump for it? =)
