Auto shifters

I'm hunting a aftermarket shifter for my 76 with a 2004r.Does anyone make one that will work in my vette?I don't want to have to butcher my console.If you have one how about a pic?Thanks guys!!

If you want to keep your original auto shifter, Bowtie sells a conversion kit that will let you simply replace shifter cable, detent plate and ODNR indicator lens. Pretty simple installation about 1-2 hrs or 4 brewskies.

I was looking at a hurst quarter stick,I already have the detent kit from shiftworks.The overdrive is the problem,I can't find one that I'm sure will work with it.

Since you don't want to butcher up the console, I don't know. I have a '76 and am going to go with a BM Hammer shifter since it is the only one that will fit in the small space in the console plate. In '77, the console plates changed alot, so other people have installed BM Megashifters, but that won't work in ours. Anyway, I still have to cover the console with a thin aluminum plate.

I don't really mind if I have to modify the console plate some I just don't want it to look like crap.Will the hammer shifter work with the overdrive?

Yes it will work with overdrive.
