Default Time for new wheels and tires !

So what size TT2's should I get ?

Going to be runnnig stock trailing arm with the ebrake relocated ( in box of OEM parts I have in the garage since it never works for more than a month after I spend hours fixing it )

Anyway I was thinking about 18 X10 with 5 in. backspacing on the back and 17 X 8 with 4 in backspacing on the front. Not sure if the wheels and tires will fit on the back so any info and pics that can help me out here are appreciated.

BTW I did a search and I have an idea, just want some input here for all the times I answered the question over the last 5 years.. " What's the biggest tire you can put on the back with a stock rim ? "

Why go w/ TTIIs? everyone and his brother has those...and although they look killer on the chrome bumpers...please consider something else. There are so many nice wheels out there...do something different.

I'm running 18X10 in the rear with a 5.5 backspace on stock trailing arms. Relocated Ebrake cable. Front is 17X8 with a 4 inch backspace. 275 40 18 rear and 255 45 17 fronts.

I had a set of these F1's on my Vette for a short time and really liked them. They really require a stiff rear spring because of the hieght at 28.4 inches. They fit on a 10 inch rim. With 8 inch front rim your kind of limited to 245 width. I have a picture of them on my home page near a sand stone red bluff.

Before the flares I had 17 x 8 and 4" backspace with 255/45-17's and 18 x 10's and 5.5" backspace with 285/40-18's.

Have the tires for sale (Dunlop SP9000's)

We just put these (American Racing Hopsters) on a '65 (has flared fenders). Something different, but considerably heavier than your Centerlines. 18X10 on back, 18X8 front.

I was looking at the Intro Pentia's but I can get 4 TTII wheels and tires for about the same price as 4 Intro wheels, money is the determining factor here.

I will think about it but the real reason for the change is rubber, I like the Convo Pro's but you can't get a performance tire for a 15 in. wheel

So keep the comments coming, and why 5.5 in. backspacing on the 18X10's ? Does this keep the wheel inside the fender. Would 5 in. backspacing wheels stick out, seems there would be a little more clearance to the trailing arm with 5 in. backspacing ?

I like the A/R Slatflat wheels, but they don't come in 18's,I don't recall what size the new TTM's come in but they look really good.Veckout AR's websites for the M's.

I think 18's and 20's would look really good.

Sort of a newbie questions. Do all C3's fit the same size wheels front and back? Are all of the fenders flaired the same and suspension heights and all? How does the Ebrake cable interfere?

Not sure might keep them for racing ( just the rims ) if I do sell them, which I was originally thinking of doing I will keep you in mind

Still need an answer on the 5.5 in. backspacing vs. 5 in. backspacing, which one should I go with on a 18x10" wheel and why ?

Lord have I agonized over wheels for the last year and a half! I've polked around websites where you can spend 12-13 hundred per wheel on bling-bling 18-20" stuff. Even the old Torque Thrusters are @300 each + sized. Thank God the car came with alum. alloys-@ 250 ea. I'll run those for show and black D steel race rims for go---I like the wheels you're running in your photos-??? Oh- and if you get something tall (18-20") with a skinny spoke you're gonna wanna upgrade the looks of your brakes!!!

Yes I like the Convo Pros too. The tires are the thing I don't like, feels like they have no grip at all. This car should corner alot better than it does right now, it is downright scary, I go around corners like a granny.

If I am going to get new tires then I probably want a modern high speed tire and you can't get that in a 15 inch otherwise I would stick with the Convo Pros.

I had forgot all about the fact that you will be able to see the calipers and rotors with 5 spoke wheels, thanks for reminding me of another upgrade
