I have a stock 75 withstock tire size 225/70 -15. I have two Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's on the front and two Goodyear Eagle GT II on the back. With the Firestones on the front the car wanders all over the road --- but basically drives OK when the the Goodyears on the front. I wanted to get away from the Goodyears because I wasn't that happy with the ride and I only needed two new tires so I tried the Firestones --- BIG MISTAKE. So I need to buy two new tires once again. Anybody have any experience with the BFGoodrich Radial T/A verses the Goodyear EAgle GT II. If the BFGoodrich tires perform well on a C3 I try those --- otherwise I'll just buy another two Goodyear EAgle GT II which I'm not thrilled with ---- but at least they don't wander all over the road
I've used both, but didn't notice much of a difference. I currently have the BFG's. They will be replaced when I get the car back on the road because they are getting old and starting to dryrot.
Go to www.tirerack.com they have reviews on most tires. The firehawks actually got pretty good reviews. I eventually went with yokohamas because the review for them in the larger 255/60 size was better than the firestone, goodrich and goodyear tires.

I wonder how your car would do with four of the same brand on there? I went from Goodyear to the Firehawks and really like them. The car wanders but no different than it did with the Goodyear GT+4 tires I had on there. I have heard that mixing brands can make a car act odd in the handling department.

Firehawks and Goodyears are both T rated tires, though. Sissy sidewalls. The cooper cobras are also T rated, but at least they're only ~80 bucks a tire, instead of 100 something.
Perhaps mixing tires is a problem, but I'm reluctant to buy two more of those puppies for fear of having four tires that go wherever they want to. My entire front and rear suspension was completely rebuilt in the past month so it's the tires, not the car. I'm going to go for another front and rear end alignment from a differnet shop to see if that makes any difference before I S-can those tires. By the way, my spare tire is the origional tire that came with the car ---- is the spare worth any $$$$ from those doing a perfect restoration?
I have BFG Radial T/A's, 255/60/15 on my 75 coupe. They handle great and look good on the car.
The front rubs a little in tight left turns...so I try not to make tight left turns...
i have had 4 sets of tires on my 75, three sets of bfg t/a 's 265/50 15 they do not rub and handle great along with a good ride. i put dunlops on to save cash one time and was very happy to go back to the bfg's. i will be sticking with this set up from now on.
I love my Firehawks, try not mixing brands and go with 4 of the same tires as suggested.
Problem is my rear tires always wear out much sooner than my front tires (too many jack rabit starts, I guess) so I'm always only replacing two tires at a time. This is the first time is mixed brands as I wanted to try to get away from the Goodyear's and I didn't want to spring for 4 new tires when I really only needed two of them.

Maybe you need to check your alignment...or just rotate your tires.
