Default 70 vette

2 questions on 70 vette..#.1 My engine suffix letters are CTG and I cant find it in any of my books. The #s match from the block to the regi, so I,m confused. The letters are very clear. Its appears to be a 350/300 AC Auto #2. Which side does the larger diameter 1/2 shaft go on drivers or pass.... Thanks

Welcome to the forum Captain... ...good to see a few of the boys in blue enjoying a fast car like the rest of us speeders...

I don't know much about the '70s C3s, sorry, I just wanted to say hi.

CTG is the code for the 70 Corvette 350/300hp with automatic so you look good there.

Both original halfshafts were 2 1/2" diamter, service replacements and all 75-up were 3".
Looks like somebody just replaced one shaft.

You need The Corvette Blackbook or the NCRS 1968-82 Specifications Guide. Order one, or both.

CTG? i'm kind of having trouble finding that suffix code too. is it suppose to be CTM 350/300 auto for 1970?

The bottom line of the above code stamping page says this, "The above list of codes is a summarization, it is not complete." So that may account for it.

It may be some help to go to the 1970 Corvette Registry as well.

CTM is a 350/300 base engine with a Rochester Q-Jet
and Automatic transmission (earlier base engine code)

CTG is a 350/300 base engine with a Rochester Q-Jet
and Automatic transmission (later base engine code)

I have a CTG in my 70 automatic
