Default New hood...

The 406 is now in the 80 Vette and it is time to start shopping for a hood that will give me a bit more clearance. I have did a bit of looking online and see Ecklers has a highrise hood which to me looks like a cowl hood but have never seen one on a car. Are these nice pieces or will they start to sag in the middle over time? Point me in the right direction my friends to who sells a good quality hood and at a fair price. All and any input will be greatly appreciated..

Default Raised Hood

I will be using one of these raised Eckler's hoods on my project, too. We will make a full cowl induction with it to feed an LS6.

PANIC, Are you using the fresh air chamber with that hood? If so, what air cleaner you running with it?

Im planning on getting that hood for my '77 and using the fresh air chamber with an RPM air gap manifold & 14x3'' air cleaner. Dont Know how well it'll all fit though.

I have this hood and I just replaced the 350 in my '69 with a 454. I was hoping to use the Performance Products "Hurricane" intake, but the hood won't close. Well, it will close, but it's touching the bowl vent tube of the carb.
