Transmission rebuild

What should one expect to pay to completely rebuild an
M21 4-spd transmission, including labor. Thanks.

OK, let me rephrase this.
How many U.S. dollars are needed to completely
rebuild an M21, 4-spd transmission?

In 1989 I had a local GM dealer completely rebuild a 66 M21 in my 69 Camaro (pretty much everything new but case and mainshaft). It was around $900 then including remove/reinstall transmission. I think you can still get it done in that range, but GM has discontinued many of the parts so you have to buy aftermarket.

Its totally impossible to tell without seeing it torn down. Best case just a small parts kit $150) and $150-$200 in labor, worst case, all new gears, small parts kit, clutches, forks and case $1,000+

I see them at swap meets for $800-$1000, more for M-22's
I charge $400 + parts. If you are handy with tools, get Pauls video and his master kit and do it yourself. www.5speeds.com

I paid about $600 including parts, He also threw in a used yolk as the rear bushing was wiped out and chewed a groove in the yolk.

It cost me $900 to rebuild my m20. $800 for parts including 4 new gears. The guy charged me $100 to rebuild it. I removed the transmission myself, though.
