Power Valve?
I went through the hassle to replace the one I had with a power valve I had sitting around. when I pulled it out the power valve had no numbers on it. Now the car runs crappy. Idles fine, but when moving it feels like its missing real bad. almost like the other two carbs are not even there. Timing is good. All fuel bowls are good (needle and seats). Is it the power vavle?
Are you sure the powervalve you put in is good? Check for a ruptured diaphram. This can be done with a Mighty vac or just suck on the flat side making a seal with your mouth and see that the plunger pulls in and seals as long as you keep suction on it (Not too hard).
You can install the correct one by running the car at idle in drive, foot on brake and check vacuum reading with gauge hooked up (May need (2) people for this. The power valve needed should be: Vacuum reading minus 2.
If your reading is 8.5 in drive, you should install a 6.5 P.V.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Sorry for the mis-information and thanks for the correction.
Greg.
