simple question: could a faulty head to header gasket cause backfire through the exhaust, or if not a faulty gasket a not perfectly fitted header to head?
as i said in a previous thread i've noticed very strong indeed back fire through the exaust since a couple of days (when i've change motor mounts), to fix the right mount i had to take the right header off ('cause one mount bolt would touch it) and then to replace the header i had some difficulty cause the engine had moved down a bit but enough to make the job more difficult...
maybe i didnt fix back the header properly and the engine is getting some air through the gasket, causing backfire?
A popping sound in the exhaust under decelleration could result from a leaky exhaust gasket. However if under acceleration then probably not and I'd suspect something else like a burnt exhaust valve or timing issue.

i've just found out what happened, the colector to exhaust pipe link, there were two bolts loose was leaking from right there...
