Default Body mounts/Floor pan

I was thinking about replacing my floor pans, I know the area around the body mount located behind the kick panels are very rusty! Can the body mounts be replaced without taking the body off? The car deffinatly leaked at some point or most of its life, so what else could I expect to find in the area of those two mounts? Thanks in advance

Hooo boy. Run a search for "Birdcage" and learn what you're getting into.

This is something you should do some research on. This may get very involved. And you have to lift the body to change the mounts. I would bet the birdcage mounting area are toast

Here is what I found on mine

Floor pan pass side

#2 mount pass side from above

#2 pass from below

I found this when I went to replace the mounts before hanging the suspension back on the frame.
I sandblasted and POR15 the holes, and habe repair sections for the rocker chanels. Going to weld a small repair patch on the #2 hole from on top. Also figured out where the leaks were and will be fixing all that as soon as I bag this welder on EBAY

I did a search on birdcage and read a lot of posts. Im thinking of giving it a go Im not afraid of work!! My real question can it be done with the car together? I think the leak was from the T-tops with the bobba seal duct tape, I have not had the trim off from around windshield. I guess I should do that first just to see. The rocker panels look ok, my only concern is the location of the body mounts. I may even consider the use of panel bonding epoxy. Does any have a link with an exploded view? or a pic of the birdcage completly out?
