Not sure what hoses you are talking about. This is how the pump looks. I've been thinking about this. Since it only does it on corners you are probably right...the problem is in the tank. Pump only goes one way. maybe the pick up is to high in the tank.

Thats true, when I pulled my sending unit out of an 82, I looked in and it had no baffle
