The convertible conversion was popular in the early 80’s and is still performed on cars that were originally coupes at some shops.
However, I wouldn’t believe that odometer for a minute.

That's an aftermarket speedometer, a stock one only goes to 85 mph. I wonder how many miles were on the original one when they replaced it with the new one?

Two things - How much did the previous owner weigh to get that seat crooked like that
and I'm leaning towards putting a 2 in front of the 40000 instead of a 1.
Other than that the car looks pretty good from a distance.
