rear end flange?

Default rear end flange?

Looking around under my car and noticed what looks like a weight on the flange behind the yoke on my diff.I have a vibration problem around 75 when I'm getting on it,and it looks a little bent on one side probaly nothing but I have to ask

The front yoke going into the differential? There is no weight on mine ('72). There are weights on either end of the driveshaft but not on the yoke.

Maybe you have a u-joint going bad?

I've seen lots of pinion yokes with weights on them. I would have the driveshaft balanced 1st though.

A lot of the pinion yokes indeed have a small weight on the dust shield, it's spot welded on (there's 2 little dimples on it), supposed to be that way.

i'd check the pinion bushing and trans bushing first

I've found them with/without the weights.

How would one check the pinion bushing? I've had my main shaft balanced also the factory manual says to check the companion flange for being loose. BTW gtr1999 you have done some very informative posts on rear ends I'm sure have helped alot of people
