Default C5 Seat Install Wiring

I'm putting a set of 98 C5 Sports Seats un my little project car. The end connector has the following wiring:

6 pins working top to bottom, left to right

1 - Large Orange
2 - Large Black
3 - Black/White Strip (maybe Brown/White Strip)
4 - 2 Small Orange
5 - Black/White Strip
6 - Small Orange

I'm more concerned with forward and backward but would like to get the lumbar and other functions working. Anyone wire this up before and speed this process up?

Thanks

Sorry, I'm afraid I am of no help here, but I was considering doing this myself and was wondering if you could post some pics of the seats in the car.

Good luck with your question. Someone here will know the answer or be able to tell you haow to find it...

I just wired a set up for a friend of mine that is putting them in a 57 2dr post.

The seats he had were out of a 99. Sport seats. I have a set of 97 manuals, so I used them to get me started.

It was pretty cut and dry. The large black is the ground, and I soldered all of the orange wires (large and small) together. Power to orange, ground to black.

I removed all the unused wires pin to pin for a clean look. And re wrapped the wires that I had to remove from the factory loom to make sure they wouldn't get tangled up in the seat trackes when it was in use.

He wanted them to be powered up only with the key on, so, I powered them though a set of relays, and wired them through 15amp fuses.

Everything worked on the seats. Well, with exception of memory. He wanted that to work also. I LMAO when he asked, then I realized he was serious!!! Absolutely not feasible.

When you are wiring them up, use a low amp fuse to protect the circuits until you are sure. Like a 1 or 2 amp. And watch your polarity.

If you have any probs let me know.

That helps a lot, thanks. Only unclear thing is the blk/wht combos. Together with the large black as grounds or left alone?

Just did a test and that did the trick. Just connected all the orange together and the one large black to ground and everything worked.

Thanks...

I Have the same issue right now... just to clarify the 2 black/white and 1 Brown/Black wires remain unused or they wired up to the large Black ground???

Also out of my driver seat i have a second harness running out with

1-Orange
2-Pink
3-Orange
4-Balck
5-Red
6-Black
7-Red

This is all incased into a blue connector... Whats this harness for????

Also the other problem I ran into was that I conected the large Orange and large Black wires on the driver sie only to the battery and the sead showed no signs of life But putting on just the Large orange and large Black wires on the driver side brought it to life is the motor busted???? or just I wire all the wires up inculding the small orange to make the decision???

Don't know what the second connector is unless you don't have the side panel on. That may be the connector that goes behind the removable side panel with the buttons on it.

All orange together to 12+
Large Black to Ground
Other Blk/Brn and white stripped not used.

If that doesn't work on the passenger side and the other connectors are in place, then the motor may be hosed.

sounds like the memory seat module. I had this problem with my seats also and had to get a second non-memory module and wire like the pass seat.

you think because of that memory module the seat might not be working and to get a none memory module? Damn that sucks do you remember what part numbers you used? and other thing I wanted to mention is that with the passenger seat as soon as the seat has power you here a quiet click noise and you can tell the seat is alive but the driver seat dose not do that...
BTW with other c3 installs with C5 seats. I got a 76 and when I put the seat in ofcourse it was to high so I cut down the front brakets Im going to weld them back up as soon as I fix the seat... By cutting down the brackets I got about 1.5 inches drop I can cut them off compleatly but then I have to cut 3 holes in the flore pan. Aspeshaly one very large hole for the motor. What did everyone else do???
