78 oil pressure

78 oil pressure

My 78 runs great with 90,000, but the oil pressure reads about 15 lbs. Is there something wrong with the gauge or is that normal pressure.

Doesnt sound abnormal for 90,ooo maybe a bit low but if your worried try a direct readout gauge to be sure.They are cheap or borrow one.

That sounds low. My '76 runs between the lower 30's and lower 40's. I, too, have about 90K on it. Is the 15 at idle or at higher RPM's?

That low pressure could mean abnormal wear to a few of the bearings. If it gets worse, you may want to look into pulling the pan and a few caps to check bearings.
