Does any one know what a 400 small block head is it looks like on the end a little building. No humps or anyting just a little building that stair steps up. I just did not want to pull the valve cover to see what they are. Just curious.

there are a number of markings used. if you are not fimilular with the actual markings, i would be careful making an assumption. humps are bumps to some people. points are triangles to others. i even saw a guy try to convience himself that his triangle power pack markings were humps of some exotic blend one time.

if you want to know, i mean you really want to know what you have, fact... take the time to pull a cover, and then you will know... with out a doubt. you might pull both covers, since you gotta by gaskets in a set... and although it doesnt seem to be as common as it used to every once in awhile you see an ole' motor with mismatched heads. some folks figure if the bolt holes line up, it's gotta be the right one.
