switch under dash question

switch under dash question
What dose the switch under the dash between the vacuum override valves do? (Big black **** - used to turn? mine will not budge) stopped by a consignment shop and the 71 there turned 1/4 clockwise then stopped and would return... sound like a switch to me.... so what dose it do?

I believe it's the reset **** for your trip odometer. If yours doesn't work, it's probably corroded and seized. You can remove it fairly easily. WD40 or something similar will probably free it up. The cable assy. costs in the neighborhood of $100 to replace.

thats the "special" button..
in case your losing a race to a ricer, pull the **** really hard so you break it off, then you will get madder then heck, and push on the gas pedal that much harder.. it helps ! !
