I don't know if you have read any of my previous post(s) concerning the vinyl t-tops but when I got "my" tops one of the pins was missing so I made a couple of eyes out of small pieces of coat hangers and then got an adjustable strap see pic below. With this setup I have been in moderate (not the biggest downpour I've ever seen) rain going up to 75MPH - with no leaks into the interior (maybe some small drips, but no real water coming in).
I recently received a set of tops with the pins, put the pins in mine, and just went out to try them on - my strap pulls the back together and really seals everything quite well - the pins on the other hand, left a big ole gap of about a 1/4". Even if I were to adjust the clip (that hooks into the slot on the t-bar) to pull the top down the rubber still would be on the inside of the chrome and would probably still leak.
Maybe this is why these tops are no longer sold.
Is there anyone out there using the pins on the ealier sharks (with what I've come to call the little triangle thing)? How do they work? Did you have to adjust them? Bent the frames?
