My 79 was converted to 134 by prior owner and has a slight leak. One of my springtime projects will be replacing the drier, the hard line that goes from drier to the condensor (its kinked) and the condensor. Forum members have recommened a parallel flow condensor be used to work best with the 134. Does anyone have a particular brand, I looked at hot rod air and vintage air and one is a direct fit and one is universal. Can anyone recommend a direct fit replacement to simplify installation. I'll change out all O-rings with the green ones also. C4 motor and fan will come after.
Thx ESU
I did some research on this a while back, can't find the link I had for it. Basically yes a paralell flow condensor is said to work better with R134 than a serial flow, and all ya have to do is find one with the same dimentions, simple enough. Of course its never that simple, Paralell flow has the connections on each end instead of on the same end (custom hoses) Bracketry shouldn't be a challenge. Other than that (they say) its easy.
i replaced my condensor, compressor and drier and a new line, also replaced the blower motor and resistor, and my a/c works great. usally if your a/c isnt blowing cold its garbage in the evaporator. not the blower motor.
