Perhaps GM will sell the LSx as a short block or as a complete crate engine. If so, it may become even more affordable.

I was just over shopping at Summit Racing and while waiting on my parts I saw a display for an Eagle 4 inch stroker forged crank, 6.200 inch H beam and forged pistons for 1998 - 2004 LS motors Which boosts you up to 405 or 408 ci for Just about $2500.

The guy in that vid clip said that almost all LS stuff would bolt right on, and even the unused bolt holes would not cause a problem with say LS6 heads. I think it's the same casting as any other LS engine.

But I can already get a motown block that'll bore out to 4.250" already... However it isn't aluminum. On the plus side, though, I can use all of the Gen I sbc stuff which makes it a lot less expensive to put in.

LSX stuff isn't any cheaper than a sbc stuff and is most likely more..

I have built acouple 499 sbc engines, for some dirt late model guys around town,I have been kicking around putting one in my new hot rod project.

It's usually the fast cars that remove emblems and the slower ones usually add them . The air cleaner lid on my 468 has a "Turbo Jet 396" sticker....I even made sure to pick the sticker with the lowest horsepower.

That's mean. I prefer they know what I have, just to watch them think twice. They're like..."Awe man, you've got a 3.8 Vortec? Crap, I don't know man...I have to pay rent this month...okay, you're on."

LSx isn't aluminum either.

LSx block will accept all LS1,2,6 stuff. Listen to the whole video.
