69 350 or 300hp
I have a 69 with THM 400. It is my understanding that the 350ci / 300hp was the only engine with this trans.
That the 350ci / 350 hp (L46) was only mated with a 4 speed. Are my assumptions correct?
Any other thing to look at in the car that would help me in this determination?

You are correct. Also, the 350 hp. engine has a 6,000 rpm redline on the tachometer. Of course, the carb., distributor etc. part numbers and the harmonic balancer size were different... not to mention the internal differences.

The 350/350HP was the only engine that did not offer a turbo 400 trans. Have you checked the engine code on the stamp pad?
HZ code is 300HP Auto, any other engine code for a small block would be manual trans.
