I usually do not bash on companies, but I wanted to inform everyone of the horrible experience I have had with them. I bought a stainless steel 2" small block, automatic, exhaust system and the part came manufactured incorrectly. After my husband and his father sawed off the end that should have connected to the headers, we found that the other end that should connect to the mufflers was directed down, instead of up. After 2 days of clamping and hanging the boys finally got the exhaust to go on, after much cursing and swearing. Besides the hundreds of exhaust leaks I had, it was finally on! Now, after it has been welded twice, it actually sounds great! But I will NEVER purchase another exhaust system from them! Anyway-MERRY CHRISTMAS!

They don't even make it themselves, that's what you get with pre fabricated exhaust. Since you wanted a stainless system you would have been much better off paying someone to cusom build on ON your car.

Don't blame Mid America. I've never heard of a complete exhaust fitting without a bunch of work to get it to fit.

If they sell it for a specific model then the system should fit!!! If not they did a terrible job in manufacturing the crappy thing. What ever happened to american quality

I tried a complete exhaust on my '80. I ended scrapping it completely when two quotes for fitting it were more than a complete custom-bent exhaust.

Unrealistic expectations for a system designed for exhaust manifolds to work easily on headers. Once you started sawing, it was all yours.

You really should have sent it back before taking a saw to it.

Stainless Works exhaust products fit correctly which is good. The bad is that they cost $800.00+. But then with headers it`s a different ball game. Due to the multi styles of headers your on your own.

We have a shop in our town that specializes in 60 and 70 muscle cars and exotics. They will estimate a price of 1700 for dual exhaust complete custom built stainless with mufflers. Nobody does their own anymore at that price and they look incredible!

It says quiet clearly in the advert

NOTE - On Header Systems, fabrication is necessary to connect to your headers, tubing is supplied

I still use the OEM exhaust manifolds on my 81 and my Mid America dual exhausts went right on in an afternoon. They sound great to me.

I hate to hear of anyone having to spend days doing what should have been hours. I sure have been there myself.

Default My Mid-America exhaust does not fit well either

First of all the part that bends up to attach to the exhaust manifold did not angle correctly and I had to take it back off and have it tweaked by a muffler shop. Second off all it does not match the factory design. and Thirdly (is thirdly a word?), despite spending many hours trying to get it to fit correctly and tuck up under the car appropriatley it occaisionally skims the ground. Do not waste your money unless you are OK with an exhaust system that just is not right.

I purchased the chambered exhaust from them. The pipes were correct. The problem was the lack of instructions and lack of hangers.
One thing to keep in mind is that they are not made in a casting. They will be some differences between pieces. I don't know if they are made by some computer controlled bender or if they are made by an indvidual using a bender. The shops who do their own bending have the advantage when istalling a system because if they need something bent a tad more they take it back to the bender.

I absolutly agree with you! When I order something it should fit or take minor love to install. The call taker should ask you about the application and make aware any possible issues, that's what a true salesperson will do, not just take money.
What do you mean "Don't blame MidAmerica", they sell it. Remember when a personality would endorse a product on radio/tv, because they USED it. Am I nieve in thinking companies check out or use the products they sell or just push product like a pimp.
