about 3 weeks ago I posted about the DIY EFI, and Mega Squirt FI system....it looked promising in that it should be able to program itself...
well I bought a kit and assembled it, and it will not communicate with my desktop PC, let along try my wife's portable in the car....
the think went together pretty well, and it seems to be alive, is best I can say, but problem is it takes 64 pages of programming directions to get it to work, I simply can not/will not cope with it....
so it's for sale to best offer.....
PM me if interested....I have 330 bux into this thing with wiring harness and comm cable....
Post something on a Megasquirt chat or ask Megasquirt if someone in your area can help you. I would expect someone down your way could help or set it up for you.
Did you get the communications to test to work when going through the build instructions? Its really quite simple to get it to communicate. i have two and the biggest problem I have ever had was my own stupid mistakes. PM me with your phone number and maybe I can talk you thorugh it. Really its not that hard, and I think once you get it working you'll love how easy it is to program the fuel and timing and well everything else. Its one of the most well thought out computers to program...IMO.
I have used several others and they all seem to be in units that make no sense to the way you really want to program or they are so complex that its hard for the average user to even get a grasp into what the programer was thinking.
442, I appreciate the offer, maybe tmrw, IF I unpack the unit and decide to try it again....I was going to sell it to Bullshark, but he may wind up fixing it for me, or not,.....I just not in the mood to fight the POS now, and no I did not check the comm port on assy....I could do it by unplugging the daughter card from the CPU socket, I presume....
all I iknow is the 3 LED's flick realy quick all at once when powered up...a good indication I went ahead and accepted.....for that matter, my PC desktop here has a Belkin USB to 9 pin on it, and even though the software is set correctly....port3, 115k, bits....and some other essoteric setting I had a hell of a time finding....all seem fine....but no loading anything from here onto the computer, goes through the gyrations for about a minit or so.....bits/files of code zipping throug the screen....but at end, it says 'no go'....not communicated....weird....
