Steering lash
Is there a special tool to loosen the outer nut of the steering lash adjustment on the steering box with the slots in it? Screwdriver and hammer are not working. :mad

It could be that the box has been painted over the years and the paint is acting like a sealer or it could just be a buildup of corrosion. All I can tellyou is that I use a screwdriver or heavy rod and a hammer and I've loosened mine quite a few times. Keep the faith and give it a couple more shots.

You may want to try a brass punch, 1/4" dia. or larger instead of a screwdriver. It won't dig into the locking ring as a screwdriver may. This has worked on all the steering gears (boxes) we set up. Good Luck.
