73jst4fun and I have an appointment this Thursday for some dyno runs. Besides checking everything, running through the valve clearance, making sure the timing and everything is set what else do we need or should do. I have a complete set of jets for the carb, timing lights, misc. tools is there anything else we need. The dyno has an AF gauge so I'll leave my LM1 at home. Any dyno veterans with any words of wisdom?

ANY dyno shop should have the ability to set your timing and fuel mixture! All *-YOU-* need to do is make sure it has at least a half tank of gas and clean filters - air and fuel.

You may want to throw a fresh set of plugs in there depending on how old your current plugs are. Bring a notepad so you can record your changes. Don't forget carb gaskets. If you have 2 O2 bungs, you may want to bring your LM1 to compare to the shop's AF meter. Cameras and videos are nice as well!

Have fun and good luck.

Carb gaskets! Got some extras. I'll put them in the box also.
73jst4fun diconnected his system this winter. Uncluttered his engine compartment plus lost a lot of weight.
Lost alot of weight in the front with that change....just bring your $$$$$ This should be fun on Thursday.... I told the guy we had no electronics/computers to deal with and he "praised the Lord"...

This is probably obvious but make sure your throtle blades are opening all the way when the accelerator is on the floor so you don't waste runs like I did trying to figure out why power was way off.
Don't forget. You will be "driving" over 120 mph. Air the tires, tighten the lugnuts, inspect u-joints, coolant and hose connections, etc. Any thing you would do before an autocross, 1/4 mile pass, or long road trip. Also make sure your dyno guy knows how to strap down and IRS equipped car.
Good luck and have fun.

Did this after the last drag strip run and found out they were not opening all the way. This has been corrected now.
Probably closer to 150 mph. I'll probably go to 7000 rpm. I'll make sure everything is tight and up to pressure.
Going to bring my camera. It is capable of short video clips also. Looks like my son is coming with me so he can take the video or pics.
I'll go over the car today to make sure nothing obvious will happen. You know Murphys law though
I am running the stock dist that has been recurved. Right now I have 20 initial with 36 total and the vacuum advance disconnected. The HD points fire a Crane HI6 box with a MSD coil. The plug wires are Moroso Blue Max The plugs are new within the last 300 miles gapped to .040. They are AC plugs.

I would even go .050. I'm also a firm believer in 4 tip plugs like the Bosche Plat 4P.
Depending on your chamber type I would try some other max timing settings in 2 degree increments.
The local shop here that I have dealt with doesn't allow over 120 mph and prefer lower. I don't know the correction factor for using other than a 1:1 gear. You might ask about running in 2nd or 3rd
