I saved the web site to my desk top a while back (along with hundreds of others) and must have cleaned it off. I thought he deleted a tenchener and used his alternator to supply force, I think he also had a small A/C delete and used a shorter belt. I'ts kinda a cool small/compact set up.

Does it look like this? I don't have the power steering pulley on or the belt in this pic, but it's a '92 Camaro serp system for cheap on Ebay, with an A/C and smog delete pulley. I can get your the part numbers for those pulleys if you ever get that serious about it.

I haven't seen his pictures and write on it for a while but It looked more condensed that yours, I think he maybe had a few less pulleys.

I think the corvettefaq lost it somewhere down the road. There is still some pics in "my corvette photos" but no tech info.

If I remember correctly you can use the following parts.

84 Vette A/C compressor with bracket, remove tensioner
85-87 Vette Water pump, save bolts. They are expensive and hard to get.
88 up Vette Power Steering pump and bracket, you will some AN adapter fittings or just peice the old and new hoses together
90 Chevy truck alt. 100+ amp without the smog pump bracket or delete.
I used a heim joints and custom tension bracket from street and performance.
Forgot the belt #.

The whole package will spin to whatever rpm range without an issue. No shimming or spacers needed.
Hope this helps.
Buddy

There is a version that's a bit tighter, where the A/C and tensioner are pulled in towards the center, I think it's from the truck motors and V6 motors. Problem is that you'll have a hood clearance with any of them unless you get an aftermarket hood.

Also, they all have the same pulleys. Now, you can remove the smog pulley all together, and run a shorter belt...but I feel the belt will vibrate too much if that smog delete isn't there.

What is it you want to know. There are only a few versions, and one or more of us have them. We can probably tell you what you're looking for.

I think he wants it to look more like stock, which is what this version looks like. No big alum. brackets. Here's a shot with my old TPI motor.

How did you attach the accessories if there are no aluminum brackets? They are the serp system.

"YES". That's what I want. Didn't you also have a small A/C delete pulley mounted lower on the heads? Also didn't you use the alternator for belt tension? Thanks Budman you ROCK!

The 84 - 85 A/C vette bracket has a tensioner on it. I ended up cutting it off, because it is not needed. You can buy the smog pump delete bracket and pulley, but it is not needed. You just mount the alternator and use a 2 heim joints and peice of metal tubing to push the alt. out for tension.

The only thing I didn't like about the layout was the length of the belt from the alt. to a/c up on top. It works fine, but looks long to me.

Oooooooh. I like this setup. Looks nice and clean. Good work. I can't remember, did you use this setup on the LS? Probably does not bolt up to the LS. Just curious.

Nope, this was on the old motor. The LS has the F body brackets.

Actually, never had a problem with it. It didn't flap or anything, just did it's job.

Do you have a better picture of the alternator tensioner? Also, what power steering pulley did you use. Looks like it would have to be a smooth since the back of the belt rides around it.
