Default Tailor Wires

Looking at replacing plug wires and have heard alot of good about tailor. Summit has many different sets, which should I go with.
10.4mm pro wire
8mm pro wire
spiro-pro wire
High energy 8mm
Should I go with solid or spiral core?
Any advice appreciated

I have been using the Taylor 8mm pro wires for over a year now. They have held up very well. My only problem was when I cooked two of the wires durring my cam break-in about 2 weeks ago. Too much heat with no airflow sure cooked the hell out of them :( , but I doubt any of the other brands I have used would have done much better that day.

I use Taylor 10.4 "409" spiro pro race. If I had a different ignition I would probably use custom fit solids. You would burn out the module of a Unilite with solid core wires.

I have a pointless ign module in my distributor. Will the solid core ruin it?

If you have no info about your type of ign. or if you plan on listening to the radio. Stay away from solid core and just buy the least ohm biggest dia you can. I have not seen looms for the big Taylor wires. so you end up with the race car look using zip ties.

Taylor 8mm will serve you well for a long time to come if you keep them off your headers.

i used Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro,custom cut them myself, used 45 degree boots. this helps keep the wires away from the exhaust manifolds. i like the Taylor wires, they come in a variety of colors, altho black is what i wanted and got.

This is off of the Taylor site. I bought the "409's because they might be the best thing out there

The Ultimate in Race Wire Technology...
Simply the Best Available!
.409 inch (10.4mm) diameter
600°F of heat protection
Sleeving is extruded directly over 8mm wire - no extra sleeving required
102,000 volts dielectric strength
3 layers of silicone
Tightly woven, heat treated fiberglass braid
Vibration proof double spring locking spark plug terminals
Color coordinated 100% silicone spark plug boots bonded to wire
High-tech conductors... your choice, Spiro-Wound or TCW Wire Core

Taylor "409" wire can be seen on winning race cars from NASCAR, NHRA, IMCA and SCORE to name a few! "409"s are simply the best high-tech spark plug wires available, bar none. A tightly woven heat-treated fiberglass braid is applied over our 100% pure silicon 8mm ignition wire. Then, a .409 inch diameter silicone jacket is extruded on top, so that there are no wrinkles or loose, bulky sleeving to collect and hold moisture. This makes for easier wire routing and gives a cleaner, detailed look to the engine. "409" Pro Race Wires are available with two types of conductors. Use Spiro-Wound conductor when RFI suppression is required. This is a must for today's high-performance electronic ignition systems including multiple spark discharge ignition systems. When RFI suppression is not a concern, use our TCW Wire Core conductor. This tinned copper clad steel conductor will deliver the maximum firepower to your spark plugs. The 100% pure silicone pro boot is permanently bonded to the outer jacket and spark plug terminals have double spring locks for a firm grip on the plugs. If you are building your own wires, we offer bulk rolls of 30 ft. and spools of 100 ft. More racers are seeing the way to the winners circle with the best wire ever... Taylor "409".
