Default removing ac compressor belt

does running a car with the ac belt off have any long term negative affect to the ac system?

Nothing serious. It's really no different that running it with the belt on and not turning the AC on. The only difference is that the idler bearing isn't turning, which could possibly cause a problem, but very unlikely, and easy to repair. Not running the AC will cause the seals to dry up causing the refrigerant to leak out, and possibly cause the compressor to fail after enough time, so the best situation is to run the air for a bit every time the car is driven.

But no, running without the belt will more than likely cause no major problem.

Non use of the a/c compressor can cause the shaft seal to leak. It's a good idea to run the compressor (a/c on) every month or so to keep this seal lubricated.

that's the reason our newer rides automatically cycle the A/C compressor for us.
