TT, you might want to use 1/2 plate for the floor. Easy to use

If you mount your seats into the "well" instead of on top of the sheet metal over the square tubing your seat height problems should be resolved

The seat issue should already be resolved as the aquare tubing is much lower than the stock floor but indeed if I get the seats and it pans out that there's still a problem I could just mount the seat in the well, just means making a sheet metal pan for that area and not having the flat floor....oh well

How are you gonna fasten the seats?

I am going to use weldnuts at three fixed postions in the frame I build and move the brackets if need be....

Fits me, Someone Shorter and Someone Taller

I'm most likely going to weld in some threaded inserts and use...yess...my favorite...allen heads If the seat is to be mounted in the well I'll just weld some standoffs in place w/ a thick mounting plate that I can drill and tap or something.

I'll build it to fit me, not planning on letting someone else drive it. I think there are brackets available that come pre drilled for adjusting the seat position, I may use some of those.

I remember you bought some ultra shield seats, do you have them installed yet? what are you going w/ the floor?

Great work as usual

That seat is going to be very low, you should have enough room for the sliders. I'd make it adjustable, you might want to change the seat position slightly some time in the future....

BTW, I think I found an original part on your car:

Funny, as they were not fully prepped for me when we delivered the car to the NCM, a gentleman from the museum drove my car to move it for display as I had to return home. It was a very traumatic event, he is the only person besides myself and the original builder to drive it the past 25 years. I was really bothered to know he was going to drive it without me.

T, when you are done we have to hook up somewhere, boy would that be a ball, we are planning on Goodwood in a few years

Its 25F here... Nope not installed yet...

I got these brackets... and the ones for the back of the seat to the roll bar...

I'm working with what's left of a 71 so my tub is 'glass... hole saw and a sawsall/cutoff tool to make room... and glass it back in...

I'm gonna run some 1"x2"x0.125 wall rect. tube under the brackets from x-member to x-member. I'll also put in a place to mount the submarine belt...
