engine numbers
This has probably been answered a thousand times, but i cant find a post about it. Where are the engine numbers found on a 76 l-48? I want to check to see if I have a numbers matching car. To have a number matching car, does it just have to have the engine numbers match with the VIN on the windshield frame?

On my 75, there is a flat spot at the same level of the top of the block on the passenger front side. Has two sets of numbers if I remember correctly. Second set has same 6 numbers as last of VIN. Unless #'s have been ground off when resurfacing face of head.
if you have AC, it is kinda underneath some of the AC lines if I remember correctly.
