Clutch Pedal Noise
Any ideas on a strange noise coming from my 1980's clutch pedal? Makes a rattling nose unless I ride with my foot on the pedal with very light pressure. Almost as though there is a rubber stop missing or a bushing missing.
Probably is noise from the throwout bearing, but could just be from improper linkage adjustment (bearing riding on the fingers of the pressure plate). Check for worn linkage, too.
While it sounds like the throwout bearing, you want to be sure to identify the actual problem before pulling the tranny and replacing it only to find out it's not the culprit.

Excellent suggestion. There is the return spring on the Z-bar (don't know how many of those I have seen broken) and anti rattle springs on the fork push rod. Make sure all of that is good before pulling the trans.

Is definitely coming from under the dash in the pedal area...
