I had posted earlier that I was going to attemp the rebuild myself. With the help of some and the key part numbers from Lars, the rebuild is successful.
I fired the car up today and she runs beatifully. I had so many problems with the carb berfore the rebuild and now I can say that the quadrajet is operating perfectly.
Keep up the carb tips, the are very helpful to us novices!!
Great news to hear. .....forced into doing mine this weekend....all buttoned up and ready to reinstall tomorrow....I probably took way longer...since I had to read (for the 3rd time) my Qjet book......just to be sure I did not mis anything.
Did you use the needle clip that attaches to float.?

Don't worry, mine took some time too. I used the Quadrjet book by Doug Roe, which helped me out tremendously. I don't recall a needle clip attaching to the float. Mine carb # is 7042202. The float set inside the bowl and the needle for the fuel inlet just set over the end. Is this what you are referring too?
