brake,headlight,stalling in gear =vacuum problem,help
well, ive come to the conclusion all these new problems..the headlight taking 5 minutes to raise, the smooth idle but car wanting to stall when put in gear;and the latest problem with the brake pedal going to the floor so brakes no more are all related to a vacuum problem...could someone please explain(like u would to a child..hehe) the propper procedure to go about checking all the vacuum hoses for leaks ect. and the equiptment needed to do this..i have the chiltons pepair guide and a porter restoration guide that came with car..im just not sure where to start and how to
Re: brake,headlight,stalling in gear =vacuum problem,help (1980 razz)
but a vacuum pump. Only $25. It comes with parts that will allow you to block off all hoses one at a time. toward the back of the manifold, you will see where vacuum lines come out. I would pull of each vacuum line coming out of the manifold and see if it will hold vacuum. Expecally with the headlights, Try to pump the complete system up with vacuum. Also, you may have a bad break booster. When I replaced mine it was leaking vacuum, once it was replaced the car ran really smooth, and my break peddle stiffened up some.
