Default Rear spring ?

I just took my 9 leaf spring apart to clean/paint/liners etc. I have 1 leaf that has some pitting. Can this leaf be re-used? If the leaf can be re-used, who has the best liners? This spring is off a '71 and looks 'black' to me. I thought these were supposed to be 'gray'?

Thanks

All liners are black and the spring leafs are grey. I believe the liners are still from Delco. Walmart, believe it or not, has a grey that is really close to original and will pass w/NCRS if thats the route your going.

Thanks for the info Dan. Is that Walmart Paint Rusto or something else? Do you stock the liners? Is the leaf Ok to use with the pitting?

Thanks

No problem. It's Krylon's Smoke Grey #1608. I don't have any in stock. I don't even stock steel springs any more. We just order them up when we do a rolling chassis or if someone brings us a spring to rebuild. Ecklers or Zip should have them.

Muskegon Brake has the liners. They can rebuild your spring or perhaps sell you the one leaf that is pitted.

I got my liners from Ecklers and cut them down to size, used the old ones for templates - they were black.

After I had my springs blasted I primed and painted with the Krylon smoke gray, came out nice
