Rubberized Edge Protector Flat Sheet Metal Press On Protector
I am looking for the following….weather strip/rubber edge seal protector that is kind of like a "U" shapped where you can press it on to a straight flat or slightly curved edge. This would be a long strip that is about 1/2" tall and just wide enough to where it would wrap around the edge that I am trying to cover up/protect.
Imagine if you cut a piece of flat sheet metal about 1/8" thick and you wanted to cover-up/protect the edge with a hard rubberized long somewhat flexible being able to follow a soft curve in a U-shape that you press the "U" shapped piece onto the edge and should stay there 99% of the time that would cover up about 1/2" of the edge. I have seen this stuff several times before on cars/boats/etc but when I go to search for it I can't find the exact stuff I need as there are a ton of choices out there and it is too hard to tell from a pic if it is the stuff I am looking for. I tried Home Depot and the guy knew exactly what I was looking for but they don't carry it. It is not really a weather strip, but more of a edge finish/protector rubberized stuff that I am looking for.

Search for "edge" on their site. Then check out "Edge Trim", in particular, from the search results. I see some stuff there that sounds like what you're describing.
Don't know if they'll have exactly what you're looking for, but there's a good chance they will.
