What is the best procedure for tracking down power problems? I tested my battery and verified it is fine. I took my 73 out for a drive about a week ago, pulled it back in the garage and everything was fine. When I went to start it last night, I wasn't getting any power at all when turning the key. I assume there must be a blown fuse somewhere. All the fuses in my fuse box are ok. So, a fusible link somewhere? What should I test after the battery, then after that, etc, to track it down?
You check the battery again and its still charged? If not, take the car down to your local parts store, they can test your alternator. It might not be charging the battery properly.
check the negative battery cable under the car.
if you have power at the positive cable at the starter then check fusible links from starter to alternator and at the horn relay
Nope, it's like there is no power at all. Brake lights don't even come on when I press the brake pedal. Lights don't come on, can't get any accessories when I put the key in the On positions.

Cool, I'll check that when I get back to the garage.
Jack up passenger side of car. Put Jack Stand on frame. Slide underneath of car. Check wires going to starter. Might want to take a circuit tester with you to check if you are getting any power from end of battery cable where it hooks to starter.
The fusable link is down there next to the starter.
Narrowed it down... Had power at the starter and power at the alternator. I traced the red line from the alternator to where it went to the fuse box and saw a fusible link right before the fuse box. It was one of the round butt types, I snipped it out and could tell it was fried. I couldn't find in my Chilton's or AIM what the proper amps are for this link. Any hints on what I should be looking for to replace it?
Moost parts stores have fusible links in packages- they're red and say "HELP" on them. FInd the same gauge wire and you're ready to go. If you use a crimp on splice, seal it with RTV and some good tape. I use 3M 33+, AND heat shrink. If water gets into the splice, it's going to corrode and you'l get to do this exercise again.

I would also say find what caused it to blow, or you will be doing it again.
