Curious as to how you are going to redo it. My center "big piece" sags near the rear window, and is slightly warped to the point where the plastic grippers will not hold it. Tried removing the headliner and wetting it down and reforming the warped areas using a wooden form. Didn't work. They sell repro headliner kits...all 3 pieces for about $380.00 in the catalogs. Haven't sprung for that yet. How are you planning to do yours? Chuck

I just put the hard top on after about 18 years and it has the same problem of sagging at he rear window, the plastic clips are useless.

It's supposed to look smooth and appear upholstered. Essentially there are three pieces, top and two sides, plus assorted trim around the rear window. The assembly manual illustrates the factory installation and lists parts numbers.

Remember: fit the hardtop and adjust your door glasses to it. Then raise the softtop and move the weatherstripping on the softtop to fit your door glasses.

Chuck - Can't help you with the rear part sag but the front of my hardtop was sagging as well. I used some large C clamps and a couple of wood strips and clamped it down until the grippers engaged. I left it that way for two weeks and it has stayed engaged with the grippers ever since. I did this when it was pretty hot out so the plastic was more pliable then it would be today. Perhaps you could lay the top upside down and load up the back edge with some sort of weight. Maybe use a heat gun on it to hurry it up some.
