This guide roller is missing on my passenger side. I think that it was removed to allow the side window to slide forward to allow work on the handle and lock mechanism. I have the parts and am trying to put the roller back into the channel. It isn't as easy as it looks. Anyone know how to put this in? There is no clearance at all.
If you haven't you'll need to remove the door panels. I removed the outer trim also as you'll need the clearance. Remove felt pad guides.
I removed the metal tracks and cleaned them when I was reconditioning my windows.
You will notice I have removed the upper stops but left the lower stops in place. These upper stops need to be removed so you can remove the entire window and then you can replace the guides on the windows.
The windows are connected to the regulator arms by two nuts, front and back. Remove these and you will be able to carefully remove the window from the door.
Perfect. What I needed to know was that I needed to remove the window, I was trying to do this without removing them. I sort of managed, but wasn't very happy with the results. I wasn't able to tighten the nut on the guide bushing properly and the window is still loose.
