ls vs SBC engine weights
Been searching for this here, Google, and ls1tech, but couldn't find the answer.
Does anyone know the weights or at least the difference in weights between an ls aluminum engine and a regular SBC with aluminum heads/water pump?
While we're at it, how much weight does one save by swapping the stock heavy SB stuff with aluminum heads, alum water pump, mini starter?
I'm thinking crate motor down the line. The GMPP 440 horse carb ls2 looks pretty nice, but is it worth the conversion trouble vs. a nice 383 SB crate motor?
