Actually, I don't think I could get my legs under the stock steering wheel and column. My source of used parts had an engine-less '56 shell in his shop the last time I was there, and I'm pretty sure I'd have to jump over the seat to get in.

I use a Volvo V70 Elec.fan setup with the Volvo shroud and it just needed minor adjustments to fit like a charm to my BeCool radiator. Moves air like a Son of a B*tch..
Best of all,it was free
I'll get some pics as soon as the batteries on my digital camera are charged.. Wish I would've thought to take pics before I put her back on the ground..oh well. Anyone with good info on a suitable temp switch to use?

The link that PhotoVette put up is a fan control kit that comes with everything including the radiator probe or sensor if you so desire.

There a trick to get into. Now driven very infrequently, sometimes I have to stop and figure out how to put a 6' 1' body in. Much easier with the soft top down or the hardtop off.
anyone have any idea what kind of cfm the camaro fans move and how many amps they draw?
A few guys have run tests, but I don't recall anyone doing a Camaro fan. A MarkVIII fan pushed over 3000 CFM and drew a spiked amperage of over 100 on full and a constant draw of over 30 amps. I don't know what level fan, and there seem to be several levels.

I'm 6'2", and the '56 that Gary had in his shop made my '77 look spacious. I was terrified to even try to get in with the hardtop on.
On the Camaro LS-1 fans, I tied both 12" fans together and installed a 50 amp toggle switch and an inline fuse holder (I hate toggle switches but I just gotta drive it) Switched it on/off 3 times w/a 30 Amp and it blew it. Put in a 40 amp and cycled the switch about 10 times and never blew the fuse. So I'm assuming more than 30 less than 40 for the two 12" fans combined. Not bad, I think..
I do like the DCC unit, I think it might be well spent money..
