Default Oil question

Hi I am from the 'other lot' in the C4 section but I have a question on a 1980 C3.
MY brother in law recently bought a very nice 1980 C3 coupe, what oil would you recommend to use in it? I use M1 0-40 in my 86 vert or Kendell's 10-40 in my previous 231 Buick's.
Do you think syn th will be too much for a 1980 with 100k on it.

Thanks for the help

Barry

If the engine is in good condition, I wouldn't hesitate to use Mobil 1.

Thanks for the reply,
The only one we can get easily here are 0-40 or 20-50, which would you suggest?

Again, depending on the shape of the engine, I would go with the lower viscosity. Wonder why Mobil doesn't have a better selection in the UK.

I think because almost all European engines run 10-40.
The bigger problem is that it costs £40 for 4 lites, that about $70...ouch

Thanks for the help

Ouch is right. Next time you're over here, stock up and take some home with you. BTW, be sure to use a premium filter. Mobil 1 makes a nice one but I'd hate to ask what they want for it in the UK. There about $9 US here.

I think any zeroW oil is not a good idea for a 27 year old chevy w/ 100km or 100k miles on engine.
