Default running lights

I just reinstalled my dash(speed, tach, light and ign. key panel) and my running lights are on constantly. What and how should I check to stop this?

Are they on even if the key is off?
Did you replace the light switch?

If a new light switch it may be defective.
I know you hate to hear this but unplug the wires from the switch and see if the running lights go off (they should). Remove the light switch and try it outside of the dash.

Just some of my ideas.
Good luck.

Thanks! I did unplug wires from light switch and they went off. Rebuilt light switch and works great.
