Head gasket question.
hi,
What will happen if the bore of head gasket is a little smaller or larger by 0.1 or 0.2 inches than bore of block ?
Does it cause a serious problem or may result in some power/torque loss but OK ?

NEVER GO SMALLER!!! It is supposed to be a little larger so when it crushes it doesnt protrude into the bore. If it gets into the bore the piston will hit it at higher RPMs due to rod stretch, depending on your deck height.

So should you use a gasket with a .030" larger bore than your cylinders, for example? Won't the gasket manufacturer have thought of this squishing effect when the head is torqued down so that you can use a gasket that is exactly the size of your bore?
